Course description:

This course provides an introduction to social media marketing. You’ll learn what social media marketing entails, including the history and relationship to traditional marketing and media. You will gain knowledge different about the social media channels that exist and how to use them to promote or sell products or services. You’ll learn how to select social media channels that fit a business or enterprise's needs, set goals and success metrics, measure and use analytics, and determine and reach target audiences.

Course learning outcomes:

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Identify traditional, digital, and social media marketing
  • Explain how to become certified as a Digital Marketing Associate
  • Describe the major social media platforms, how they function, and what role they play in marketing
  • Create SMART goals and identify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Define your target audience and their customer needs
  • Choose the right social media platforms for your audience and create a social media strategy or plan

Course pre-requisites:

You don't need to have social media experience or experience in marketing to take this course. You will be able to build upon the knowledge you have and set goals for future learning. From this course you will gain a foundation of social media marketing knowledge and applicable skills that you can apply in business or other enterprises. While you don't need marketing experience, you should have basic computer and internet navigation skills and be willing to connect in social media. Having used some social media helps.

This course introduces the concepts and issues related to securing information systems and the development of policies to implement information security controls. Topics include the historical view of networking and security, security issues, trends, security resources, and the role of policy, people, and processes in information security. Upon completion, students should be able to identify information security risks, create an information security policy, and identify processes to implement and enforce policy. Students may take this course as an individual course without being in a computer information technology program. CIT 250 is also offered online. (Credits 3, Class hours 2, Lab hours 2)


This course offers students an introduction to the theoretical and practical performance of effective oral communication skills. Students will learn rhetorical strategies and opportunities to aid them in improving their interpersonal, intercultural, public, and group communication skills.

  • Applies fundamental principles of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and mechanical  systems  to  wind  turbine  engineering.
  • Emphasizes fundamentals  of  horizontal-axis  wind  turbines. 
  • Applies wind  energy  conversion,  wind  turbine  aerodynamics,  performance, and  design  of  wind  turbine components to the building of wind turbines. 
  • Covers an overview of wind resource and historical development of wind turbines and introduction of  wind  turbine  installation  and  wind  farm  operation. 
  • Team-based  projects  are an  integral  part  of  this  course.
